Colorado Business Leaders: Lang Sias For Senate District 19

State Chamber, Colorado Concern, North Metro Chamber of Commerce, and NFIB Urge Their Members to Back Arvada Challenger

Arvada, CO… Four business advocacy groups – together representing a diverse spectrum of member businesses in Senate District 19 - have endorsed Arvada father, pilot and decorated military veteran Lang Sias over his Democrat opponent in a hotly contested State Senate race.

Leadership from each organization gave praise to Sias’ commitment to the success of small business in Colorado:

“Having grown up in a small business family, Lang Sias understands at a gut level the need to encourage and support our entrepreneurs and small business owners. If elected, Lang will work every day on behalf of our business community - the backbone of the Colorado economy. Colorado Concern is proud to endorse Lang Sias for Senate District 19.” Tamra Ward, President - Colorado Concern.

“Lang Sias has demonstrated to the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry that he is committed to improving Colorado’s business climate.  Because Lang is dedicated to encouraging entrepreneurship, business growth and a “lean,” efficient State Government, he has earned CACI’s endorsement and support.” Chuck Berry, President  – Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.

“Lang Sias has deep appreciation for the challenges of small business in Colorado. In the State Senate, Lang will be a committed advocate for the hundreds of small business owners and their employees in Senate District 19.” Tony Gagliardi, Colorado State Director – National Federation of Independent Business.

“Lang Sias clearly demonstrated he has a pro-business approach to decision making. He will be a strong proponent of making a “business case” for the gamut of issues facing the legislature including taxation, economic development, education, transportation, and sustainable energy policies.  We believe his experience working with entrepreneurs, and small and large business owners will bode well for our members at the legislature.  His number one priority is building private sector growth.”

North Metro Chamber of Commerce

Lang Sias is the only Republican candidate for Senate endorsed by the North Metro Chamber. In 2008 North Metro endorsed Sias’ opponent, incumbent Democrat Evie Hudak, when she first ran for election.

Sias expressed his appreciation for the vote of confidence from the organizations. “With great admiration for the tens of thousands of Colorado small business owners and their employees, I will work every day in the State Senate to create a business-friendly climate in Colorado,” said Sias. “The best contribution our legislature can make to Colorado small businesses is to get government on their side – including making regulations reasonable and predictable, and keeping taxes low and fair,” he added.

Lang Sias and his wife Rene – ten year residents of Arvada - are parents of three young children; the two that are of school age attend Jeffco Public Schools. He has served as a fighter pilot in the Navy and in the Air National Guard, where he is currently a lieutenant colonel. He holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Vassar College.
